Badminton

Team tournament for mixed teams (under and over 40 years). One team consists of at least 3 players in the “mixed open” category (2 men and 1 woman, no more than 4 men and 2 women) or at least 4 players in the “mixed senior” category (2 men and 2 women, no more than 4 men and 4 women). Each match will consist of the following games: 1 men’s singles, 1 women’s singles, 1 men’s doubles and 1 mixed doubles (“mixed open”) and 2 mixed, 1 men’s and 1 women’s doubles (“mixed senior”). The participating teams will be divided into groups made up of 3 to 4 teams in the preliminary round. A match consists of the best of 2 games of 21 points. Competition format

The 27 teams (mixed open) play a first round in 6 groups of four and 1 group of three. After this the 6 number ones play in two group of 3 and the 6 number 2 play in two groups of 3 etc. After this the number one from both groups play for place 1-2 and the number 2 play for place 3-4 etc.
The 24 teams (mixed over 40s) play 5 groups of four and 1 groupe of three. After this the 6 number ones play in two group of 3 and the 6 number 2 play in two groups of 3 etc. After this the number one from both groups play for place 1-2 and the number 2 play for place 3-4 etc.
In both classes all places from 1 to 24 (and 23) will be played out. Number four of group F will end als n. 21 without playing.

Competition rules

In principle, the rules of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) apply. Each match consists of the best of 2 games of 21 points without extra time. The interval between the first and second gameis 90 seconds. The teams are requested to report to the tournament director 30 minutes before their first match is to begin. The organiser will provide the shuttles; these are Yonex Aerosensa-30 natural shuttles. Please note that only non-marking indoor shoes are permitted.

Scoring

The scoring within the group follows the points system (win 2 – draw 1 – loss 0 points). If two teams have the same number of points, the deciding factors are first the encounter, then the difference between winning and losing points, and finally the better game and point ratio.

Please ensure that you leave yourself enough time to get from your accommodation to the sport venue. Each person participates in the European Company Sport Games 2022 in Arnhem at their own risk. Each participant is responsible for ensuring that they have appropriate accident insurance coverage.

Important information

Team leaders/players must report to the tournament management in order to be registered and to receive the required instructions/information min. 30 minutes before the first game. Players must be ready for the game at least 15 minutes before start. Games will be started at the planned time if the minimum number of players is present under the rule of the game. If the required number of players is not ready to play at least 15 minutes after the scheduled time, the team/players loose(s) the match.
