Table tennis

Team tournament for men’s and mixed teams (under and over 40 years). A team consists of 2 up to no more than 4 players. Each team will play the following matches in order: doubles, 1st singles, 2nd singles. Before each game the team will notify the tournament direction of which player will play in which position. In the mixed tournament the order will be: doubles, women’s match, men’s match.

Competition format

Team tournament for men’s and mixed teams. All registered teams play a first round robin (each team plays all opponents) followed by quarterfinals, semifinals, final and match for third place. Competitions with a smaller number of teams will only play a round robin. The numbers one and two of the round robin (in some case number 3) will advance to the play-off round.

The participating teams will be divided into groups made up of 4 to 6 teams in the preliminary round. Matches will be played in the best of 3 format, first to win 2 games of 11 points. The rules of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) apply.

Competition rules

In principle, the rules of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) apply. Each match-up will consist of the following matches:

  • Doubles
  • 1st singles
  • 2nd singles

Each match must be played out, all three matches will be played in the best of 3 format (2 winning sets to 11 points). Maximum warm-up time before each match is 2 minutes. The teams are requested to report to the tournament director 30 minutes before their first match of the tournament is scheduled. After that each team needs to report to the tournament director 15 minutes before the match for the draw of the player order. Matches will be played on blue TIBHAR 40R tables and with white TIBHAR 40+ Syntt NG balls. Players must avoid wearing clothing that is predominantly white.

The table tennis hall will be open from 8.30 am on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday the hall will be open from 9.30 am.

Scoring

The scoring in the round robin fase follows the points system: win 2 point; loss 0 points. If two or more teams have the same number of points, the deciding factors are first the match, then the better set ratio and finally the better point ratio. If this doesn’t bring a conclusion, faith will decide by toss.

Important information

Team leaders/players must report to the tournament management in order to be registered and to receive the required instructions/information min. 30 minutes before the first game. Players must be ready for the game at least 15 minutes before start. Games will be started at the planned time if the minimum number of players is present under the rule of the game. If the required number of players is not ready to play at least 15 minutes after the scheduled time, the team/players loose(s) the match.
